Common Health Issues (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care Facility for Elderly Board of Registered Nurses As we age, our bodies begin to work differently. Many bodily functions and systems begin to deteriorate, leaving a person with diminished capacity and vulnerable to many health issues. This module describes some of the more common health problems you'll encounter in a residential care facility, along with ways to help your residents cope with them. Topics include dehydration, urinary tract infections, constipation, aspiration, pneumonia, dental problems, and skin issues.  Read more

Common Infectious Diseases (2 CEUs) Approved for: ARF RCFE GH  STRTP  Approved for the Board of Registered Nurses In this course, you’ll find basic information about some of the most common illnesses found in residential care settings. The information found here is intended for general knowledge as well as a guide for training staff for the occurrence of specific infectious diseases. This course does NOT include information on HIV, AIDS, or TB and does NOT satisfy the California Health and Safety Code requirement for HIV/AIDS and TB training. It is important for caregivers to recognize their residents' varying abilities to communicate and to find ways to help residents compensate.
