4:30pm - 8:30pm Food Service by the Numbers (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This 4-hour course equips students with the knowledge and skills to ensure that the meals they are serving are safe, delicious, and meet the nutritional needs of their residents. This course covers regulations and budgeting, food safety practices and meal planning principles, modified and supplemental diets, the four pillars of food safety, and common food safety myths. We will also explore the science behind foodborne illnesses and identify common risks. Read more

4:30am - 8:30pm Laughing All the Way to the Bank: How to Keep Your Workforce Happy (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) No BRN This four-hour class will review the literature regarding positive work environments and the importance of laughter and humor. Through lectures, discussions, and activities, participants will develop an appreciation for the science behind laughter and the importance of creating workplaces that encourage employees to enjoy their work. Material will also be discussed about the importance of laughter in dealing with elders and people with disabling conditions, as it affects the types of activities planned and developed for that population. 8:00am - 6:30pm No More Errors - Leveling Up Your Medication Safety (5 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This 5-hour course offers an overview of common medication errors, their root causes, and effective strategies to minimize risk. Participants will learn about frequent types of errors and explore ways to prevent them. The goal is to improve medication safety, increase staff accountability, and support better health outcomes for our residents.   Regulations: Keeping Your Cool with Title 22 (3 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) This 3-hour course focuses on the laws, regulations, policies, and procedural standards of Title 22. We’ll cover key topics such as facility licensure, the physical environment, marketing, and the acceptance and retention of residents. It also addresses staffing, including employment law, training, and best practices for staff retention.   Traumatic Brain Injury: Caring with Knowledge and Confidence (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This two‐hour provides a comprehensive overview of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), designed for caregivers and administrators in residential care community settings. 8:00am - 6:30pm Person-Centered Principles in Action (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This 4-hour course provides a foundational understanding of person-centered awareness and its application in supporting individuals with developmental differences and the elderly in community settings. We will explore the principles behind HCBS, the impact of language and assumptions, and practical strategies for promoting choice, empowerment, and self actualization. Learn to move beyond traditional models to create truly person-centered support that honors individual needs and goals.   Dementia Regulations: What You Need to Know! (4 CEUs) (This Course is ONLY approved for Regulations) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly No Group Home / STRTP National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This four‐hour course focuses on topics such as new forms from licensing, a new medical assessment tool, and the qualifications of medical professionals who can perform assessments. It also emphasizes understanding and documenting behavioral expressions, with a focus on the idea that "all behavior is communication". The curriculum includes discussions on facility requirements, staff training, reporting procedures for elopement, planned activities, and advertising regulations.   Dementia: Smart Support (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly No Group Home/STRTP Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This course focuses on effective communication techniques and creating a dementia-friendly environment to support those living with dementia. Participants will explore the challenges dementia presents to communication and learn practical strategies for improving interaction and socialization. The course also covers how the environment can support comfort and engagement, and addresses common issues like depression, sleep disturbances, delusions, and hallucinations, with strategies for care and  support. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to enhance the quality of life for people living with dementia through compassionate communication and an understanding of their unique needs. Activities of Daily Living - The Essentials (3 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) Activities of daily living (ADLs) are the common, everyday, learned activities that people perform to maintain their health and wellness. An individual in assisted living will probably require some level of assistance with their ADLs. This course provides step-by-step guidelines as well as tips and tricks for helping individuals get through their daily care routines. Read more

Autism Spectrum Disorder (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This course provides students with an introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its impact on individuals and their families. Students will gain knowledge about the characteristics, causes, and diagnosis of ASD, and explore different types of ASD and their symptoms. The course also covers the impact of ASD on individuals, the importance of early identification, societal implications, attitudes towards individuals with ASD, and tools to support them in various settings.  Read more
