Participants will examine how leadership tone influences stress, accountability, morale, and safety, with practical strategies to lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.   Evictions: How to Get Them Right (Regulations) (3 CEUs) 10:00am - 1:00pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) No Group Home/STRTP This course provides an overview of eviction standards and policies. We’ll explore the proper procedures for issuing eviction notices, including the necessary documentation and legal requirements. Additionally, we’ll examine the six specific reasons that justify eviction under the law, such as non-payment of rent or lease violations. The course also details the different eviction timelines, including three-day, 30-day, and 60-day notices, explaining the circumstances and legal procedures associated with each.   Budgeting and Financial Management for Success (2 CEUs) 1:30pm - 3:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) No Group Home/STRTP This course covers the essential financial operations required to run an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) or a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). Participants will review the two primary components of facility fiscal management: revenue sources and expense tracking. The curriculum covers how to identify additional service fees, calculate the true cost of 24/7 staffing (including payroll taxes), and plan for fluctuations in resident capacity. The session includes a practical workshop where students practice completing the LIC 401 Monthly Operating Statement, a required document for state regulatory compliance.   Dementia: Activities of Daily Living (3 CEUs) 3:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) No GH/STRTP Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This 3-hour course describes the struggles with activities of daily living experienced by individuals with dementia. It covers identifying difficult behaviors and associated issues, developing tips for handling these behaviors, applying concepts of grieving, identifying difficult behaviors of residents, and managing them effectively. The ABCs of behavior and teaching techniques for problem-solving and behavior management for staff are also covered. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to manage difficult behaviors and create positive outcomes.   Regulations: Mandated Reporting and Documenting Incidents (2 CEUs) 4:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) This two‐hour course outlines the requirements of reporting to CCLD when the unexpected occurs. From the duties of a mandated reporter to accidents, disasters, outbreaks, and more, this course teaches the participant how to avoid fines by properly documenting and reporting the unforeseen. Through lectures, discussions, and activities, participants will develop an appreciation for the science behind laughter and the importance of creating workplaces that encourage employees to enjoy their work. Material will also be discussed about the importance of laughter in dealing with elders and people with disabling conditions, as it affects the types of activities planned and developed for that population. The goal is to improve medication safety, increase staff accountability, and support better health outcomes for our residents.   Regulations: Keeping Your Cool with Title 22 (3 CEUs) 1:30pm - 4:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) This 3-hour course focuses on the laws, regulations, policies, and procedural standards of Title 22. We’ll cover key topics such as facility licensure, the physical environment, marketing, and the acceptance and retention of residents. Participants will review the requirements and procedures for admitting a new resident and planning their care. They will also assess how their current process might be improved to maximize the quality of care each resident receives.   Conflict and Behavior Management (4 CEUs) 12:30pm - 4:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This four-hour course teaches participants about behavior as a form of communication and how to manage it using the ABCs of behavior, triggers, and responses. It also covers identifying and handling difficult behaviors in residents. Participants will learn about the five types of conflict managers and the five Ps of conflict management, and how to apply them to different situations. The program aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage difficult behaviors and conflicts in various settings.   From Stigma to Support: Addressing Mental Health and Illness (2 CEUs) 4:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This 2-hour course demonstrates to participants how attitudes, language, and daily practices directly shape the emotional well-being of the people in our care. In residential care, residents may already face loss, adjustment, trauma, disability, aging challenges, or developmental differences—and when stigma is added, it can silence needs, create fear, and reduce trust. This course shifts the focus from judgment to understanding, from labels to person-centered care, and from avoidance to meaningful support. Together, we will learn how to recognize stigma, replace it with empathy, strengthen communication, uphold dignity, and build environments where residents feel safe, respected, heard, and supported in their mental health.
