This course covers regulations and budgeting, food safety practices and meal planning principles, modified and supplemental diets, the four pillars of food safety, and common food safety myths. While not all disasters may be anticipated, studies demonstrate that preparation, knowing how to respond when a disaster strikes,  and remaining calm and flexible can save lives and reduce physical damage.   Inclusive Care: LGBTQIA+ Issues in Residential Settings (2 CEUs) 4:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This two-hour interactive course equips administrators with the knowledge and tools to create inclusive, affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ residents. Participants will explore the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in licensed residential care, including legal protections, health disparities, and social isolation. Through engaging discussions, real-world case studies, and legal insights, attendees will learn how to address discrimination, respect diverse identities, and implement culturally competent practices. 4:30pm - 8:30pm Evening Class!   Leadership in Action: Workplace Culture and Care (2 CEUs) 4:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) This two-hour course explores how leadership quality directly shapes staff performance, care culture, and resident well-being. Participants will examine how leadership tone influences stress, accountability, morale, and safety, with practical strategies to lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.   Budgeting and Financial Management for Success (2 CEUs) 6:30pm - 8:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) No Group Home/STRTP This course covers the essential financial operations required to run an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) or a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). Participants will review the two primary components of facility fiscal management: revenue sources and expense tracking. The curriculum covers how to identify additional service fees, calculate the true cost of 24/7 staffing (including payroll taxes), and plan for fluctuations in resident capacity. The session includes a practical workshop where students practice completing the LIC 401 Monthly Operating Statement, a required document for state regulatory compliance. 8:00am - 6:30pm   Regulations: Risk Management and Insurance Issues (4 CEUs) 8:00am - 12:00pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) This four‐hour course helps administrators identify risks in their facilities through staff training, choosing levels of insurance coverage, regulatory compliance, and documentation.   Dementia: Beyond Disease (6 CEUs) 12:30pm - 6:30pm Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) No GH/STRTP Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) This six-hour course features the works of G. Allen Power MD, who is a board-certified internist and geriatrician. The course is centered around Dr. Power's first book, Dementia Beyond Drugs, which was named Book of the Year in 2010 by the American Journal of Nursing in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Additionally, Dr. Power's second book offers an experiential perspective on dementia rather than a medical one. Participants will follow Dr. Power's path to wellbeing through seven domains, using his book, Dementia Beyond Disease: Enhancing Well-Being, as the foundation for the course. Read more

Activities of Daily Living - The Essentials (3 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) Activities of daily living (ADLs) are the common, everyday, learned activities that people perform to maintain their health and wellness. An individual in assisted living will probably require some level of assistance with their ADLs. This course provides step-by-step guidelines as well as tips and tricks for helping individuals get through their daily care routines. Read more

Autism Spectrum Disorder (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) This course provides students with an introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its impact on individuals and their families. Students will gain knowledge about the characteristics, causes, and diagnosis of ASD, and explore different types of ASD and their symptoms. The course also covers the impact of ASD on individuals, the importance of early identification, societal implications, attitudes towards individuals with ASD, and tools to support them in various settings.  Read more

Behavior Issues (1 CEU) Approved for: Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) Group Home (GH) Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) By approaching behavior as communication, we are able to listen to what a resident may be trying to tell us, discover the reasons behind their behavior, and take steps to meet the needs or concerns behind it. This course also instructs the user on how to use a Functional Behavior Assessment and a Positive Behavior Approach. These concepts can be applied to address problem behaviors in residential care.  Read more
