Welcome to Formula 40! Formula 40 unlocks 40 hours of training designed to fit your learning style and schedule – all for one amazing price. With savings of almost $100 and maximum flexibility, this is the smartest way to complete your renewal!  Remember your renewal requirements! CCLD will accept no more than 10 CEUs completed in a single day (24-hour period) CCLD will accept a maximum of 20 online CEUs – The other 20 must be completed as classroom training (In-Person or Livestream) All administrators must complete at least 4 CEUs of Regulations training as part of your renewal RCFE Administrators must complete at least 8 CEUs of Dementia training *Group Home and STRTP users: Please note that not all of our courses are approved for GH/STRTP. Be sure to check whether you will receive credit before beginning a course.   Formula 40 is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase or once 40 CEUs are complete - whichever occurs first. Welcome to Formula 40 Plus! Formula 40 Plus takes the guesswork out of your renewal application process! You get 40 CEUs of training - we will consult with you to design a course schedule that will ensure you get all of your renewal requirements fulfilled. We keep track of your course certificates. We collect from you your completed renewal application, your check made payable to the Department of Social Services, and a copy of your Nursing Home Administrator license (if applicable). We review your application package for completeness and correctness and submit everything via certified mail to CCLD on your behalf. Please note: CCL will accept no more than 10 CEUs completed in a single day! Certification renewal requires 40 hours; at least 20 of which must be conducted in a live course format, and 20 may be completed in a self-paced course format. *Group Home and STRTP users: Please note that not all of our courses are approved for GH/STRTP. Be sure to check whether you will receive credit before beginning a course.   Plus packages finished within 14 days of certificate expiration do not allow enough processing time and may risk a $300 CCLD late fee. 4:30pm - 8:30pm Dementia: Strategies for Person Centered Care (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly No Group Home/STRTP Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses This four-hour course is designed specifically for those working in residential care settings with individuals living with dementia. We’ll focus on person-centered care strategies tailored to promote dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement within these environments. Participants will gain a deep understanding of dementia, regulatory updates relevant to residential care, and practical approaches to enhance the quality of life for residents affected by dementia. 8:00am - 6:30pm Activities and Resident Engagement (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly Group Home STRTP Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses This 4-hour course will review regulatory requirements on activities and staffing and provide tools for providers to expand their activities program options.   Managing Challenging Behaviors - Navigating Difficult Behaviors (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly Group Home STRTP Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses This four-hour course is designed to help participants manage difficult behaviors in various settings. It covers identifying difficult behaviors and associated issues, developing tips for handling these behaviors, applying concepts of grieving, identifying difficult behaviors of residents, and managing them effectively. The ABCs of behavior and teaching techniques for problem-solving and behavior management for staff are also covered. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to manage difficult behaviors and create positive outcomes.   Regulations: Your Residents' Right to Vote (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly This two‐hour course is designed to help administrators support their residents as they overcome the many barriers to voting experienced by individuals with disabilities. This course reviews the rights of residents to vote, the history of voting rights for individuals with disabilities, and ways to ensure that residents are able to cast their votes. Read more

8:00am - 6:30pm Laughing All the Way to the Bank: How to Keep Your Workforce Happy (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly Group Home STRTP No BRN This four-hour class will review the literature regarding positive work environments and the importance of laughter and humor. Through lectures, discussions, and activities, participants will develop an appreciation for the science behind laughter and the importance of creating workplaces that encourage employees to enjoy their work. Material will also be discussed about the importance of laughter in dealing with elders and people with disabling conditions, as it affects the types of activities planned and developed for that population.   Dementia: Engaging Activities (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly No Group Home/STRTP Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses This two-hour course is a new way to look at activities and how to create an activity program that provides meaning and growth for individuals with dementia. Too often, activity programs focus on fixing deficits and are called therapeutic interventions. The focus must be on the interests of the individual to provide meaningful and engaging activities and to provide truly person-centered activities.   Regulations: Residents' Personal Rights (2 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses This course provides participants with the knowledge and ability to understand and apply the daily practice of ensuring Residents' Rights. This course is based on the client rights under the Lanterman Act passed in 1969 and CDSS Title 22.   Infection Control in Residential Care (2) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly No Group Home/STRTP Accepted by the Board of Registered Nurses Residents and staff in long-term care facilities are at higher risk of infection than the average population. Infections acquired in healthcare settings account for more than 380,000 deaths annually. Infections add to health care costs, increase hospitalizations, and lead to diminished quality of life for residents. Infection control is one of the primary goals of care in a residential facility. This two-hour course reviews the regulatory requirements for infection prevention and the role of the Infection Control Lead. 8:00am - 12:00pm Regulations: Risk Management and Insurance Issues (4 CEUs) Approved for: Adult Residential Facility Residential Care for Elderly Group Home STRTP This four‐hour course helps administrators identify risks in their facilities through staff training, choosing levels of insurance coverage, regulatory compliance, and documentation.
